How to Find Us
Did you know that we're within 1.5 hours of London Paddington by train? The pretty market town of Castle Cary is only five stops on the mainline from the Capital and once you're here, it's a beautiful place to explore with many top quality places to pursue.
It is possible to walk from the train station to the centre of town, through the hilly countryside (15 mins), or there are taxis at the station.
By car from the South East, we are within 10 minutes’ drive North of the A303 Sparkford roundabout. The drive is approximately 2 hours from London.
Nearby places to visit:
The Newt, just up the road (1 min); a five-star spa hotel and estate, with cyder orchards, shops, restaurants, gardens and museums.
If you love classic cars, Haynes Museum is very close (4 miles).
International art gallery Hauser and Wirth, Bruton (3 miles).
Babington House and Frome with its famous monthly market are within half an hour North. The stunning village of Mells is also near there.
We are just over an hour’s reach of Bath and Bristol, and just 20 minutes from the Dorset border with all its pretty villages and towns, including the lovely Sherborne and Cerne Abbas.
National trust gems Lytes Cary, & Montacute are close by (20 mins) South.
Longleat House & Safari Park - 40 mins North between Frome and Warminster.
PARKING & DOG WALKING:
We have free parking all along our high street with its plethora of independent shops, cafes and museum, and a traditional farmers' market very Tuesday morning. There are two further free car parks either end of the town - the largest one being down near Philips garage/petrol station.
It’s an easy place to walk your dog, with Lodge Hill just behind the high street.
Ask us for any further recommendations and where to eat/stay.
