Art as a starting point…

I am a graduate of Interior Design from the KCL School of Design, London, and a member of the British Institute of Interior Designers. After originally training and graduating in the arts and classical music, I developed my retail business over twenty years, also aligning with the art world. Combining my eye for buying and merchandising for my shop ‘Article’, together with the daily curatorial role in running our art gallery with my husband, I have a varied and multi-faceted approach to design, influenced by artistic movements and cultural context. My unique positioning as a designer is to start with a client’s art collection and interests. Too often, art and décor elements are a final layer afterthought. I am a designer for Collectors.

My practice is client-led, from listening and responding to your lifestyle, interests and your collections of art and articles, together with taking a sympathetic approach within the architecture and period of your property, which I believe must always have an equal volume in the conversation. Rather than ‘imposing a style’ onto your home, my skills lie in drawing out the elements of your personality and lifestyle which will inform how I make your home truly work at its best level for you.

In building real face-to-face relationships with my network of suppliers and makers, I make it easy for you to achieve the high quality results you’re looking for in furnishing and styling your home environment.
