A quintessential SOmerset cottage in one of the prettiest villages
The Old Post House has had many lives over its 600 years. It was the most recent site of the village post office, from the late 1950s until 2006, but before that it was a saddlery and forge, and is the oldest house in the village, built within the castle’s curtiledge to serve the castle requirements for iron and leatherworks. During 2019 the owners gave it a complete craftsman-restoration using the top local stonemasons and builders, with a resulting beautiful modern finish which is respectful of its ancient feel and flow.
